The Worgen race is one of the new playable races introduced in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. They are distinguished for their savage characteristic and beastly appearance, a cross between a human and a werewolf. Worgen is a term that comes from the word Warg, a term used in the Norse mythology to refer to a savage, wolf-like creature. When entering a combat, the Worgen would immediately transform into their beast appearance and fight fearlessly. They show no mercy to their foes and are notable for being so vicious and intelligent when in a fight.

The notable Worgen groups in the World of Warcraft include the Greymane (Alliance) from Gilneas, the Wolfcult (Scourge) found in Grizzly Hills, and the independent groups Nightbane found in Duskwood, Moonrage found in Silverpine Forest, Shadowfang found in Shadowfang Keep, and the Terrowulf found in Ashenvale Forest.

Worgen Backwards

Since the introduction of the Worgen characters in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the racial discrimination conspiracy has been popularly discussed in many different forums. Apparently, when Worgen is spelled backwards, it gives the term Negrow, which explicitly refers to the dark-skinned race. Apart from the name, a few characteristics of the Worgen, such as being dark-skinned and working for the white Arugal, make the conspiracy the most talked about topic in WoW and other related forums.

Many believe that this is quite true, however, when facts are to be considered carefully, this conspiracy will always remain untrue. The term worgen was coined from the word Warg, which is used in the Norse mythology to refer to a wolf-like creature. The worgen resemble a cross between a human and a wolf, thus, the name Worgen was used, with the -en added to emphasize plurality.

One of the classes of Worgen are the druid worgen. Currently, druid worgen in cat and bear forms with their unique art forms are being worked on. It is said that when in combat form, they can transform into their worgen form, while when not in combat, they turn into their cat or bear form.

Druid worgen in cat and bear forms have significant resemblance to their respective animal forms but also have the equivalent strength of a worgen. While druids are not as savage as the worgen, they have an even deeper link with the worgen. Their shapeshifting skills are perfect for any transformation and their history with the worgen holds the key to helping the people of Gilneas deal with their curse.

Torment of the Worgen

July 14th, 2010 worgen leveling Comments off

Torment of the Worgen is one of the popular items in World of Warcraft. The book can be found inside Sealed Tomes in the Guardian’s Library in Karazhan. Breaking the seal on the book grants you a 60 minute buff, giving your ranged and melee attacks a 3% chance to transform yourself into a Worgen, dealing 200 additional shadow damage per hit, lasting 10 seconds.

Using the Torment of the Worgen generates a Singed Page in your inventory. The Singed Page contains the following writings: “I did this. I don’t remember doing it, but it cannot be otherwise. I have committed sins in my life before. I even killed a man once who didn’t deserve it. But this is different. I am changed. These murders were not my choice. A beast lives inside of me. I will be hunted and shunned. I need to hide. Run. Bury the bodies. I start to walk outside when I realize what truly bothers me. I feel no guilt.”
